Xiaomi has just announced the new budget phone, the Redmi 2 Prime in India. The budget device Redmi 2 was launched earlier this year and the company has cut down the price of the device to Rs 5999. Now the company has launched the upgraded variant of Redmi 2, called the Redmi 2 Prime. The Redmi 2 Prime comes with a 4.7 inch HD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 410 Quad core 64 bit processor with 2GB RAM. The upgrade from Redmi 2 is the increase in RAM, which was earlier at 1GB.
The phone also comes with larger internal storage at 16GB and you can also expand it via micro SD card. This is the first time, the company is making the device in India ever since it launched it’s operation last year.
On the imaging front, the phone has 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 and LED flash along with front 2MP camera. There is Android 4.4 KitKat and the phone has custom MIUI 6 on top of it. The phone has dual SIM card with 4G LTE support.
There is also 2200mAh battery included in the device.
The phone is priced Rs 6999 and comes in white and grey colors. It will be available on Mi.com and across all Mi India partners including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal starting from today.
