At the event in China, Xiaomi announced their new budget phablet, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. The Redmi Note 2 is the successor of the popular Redmi Note which was announced last year. The device comes with impressive specs and features a 5.5 inch Full HD display which is an upgrade from HD display on the Redmi Note. The device is powered by the flagship Helio X10 Octa core chipset which is clocked at 2.0Ghz and features 2GB RAM.
The phone also comes with 16GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card.
On the imaging front, the phone comes with a 13MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus with f/2.2. There is also a 5MP Front Camera for selfies and video calls. Design wise, there isn’t much of a change when compared to previous generation Note, but this time the phone comes with a matte finish rear panel similar to Redmi 2.
The phone runs on Android 5.0 with MIUI 7 which was also announced today. As always, MIUI7 comes with quite a lot of new features and options compared to stock Android. The phone weighs 160gms and is just 8.25mm thick. Redmi Note 2 comes in 5 colors, namely white, black, pink, brown, and light blue.
The phone also comes with 4G LTE support and features a 3060mAh battery.
