At the unpacked event last week, Samsung had announced two new devices, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. While both the phones ahve the same hardware and software combination, the only difference is in their functionality, the Edge + as the name indicates have a curved display at the edges.
It features a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by Samsung LSI Exynos 7420 Octa core processor (4xA57 @ 2.1GHz and 4xA53 @ 1.5GHz) and Mali T760MP8 @ 772MHz GPU. The device comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s Touchwiz UI. On the imaging front, the phone comes with 16MP rear camera, 1.12µm pixels and F/1.9 with Optical Image Stabilization. There is also a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone has 32GB and 64GB internal storage and there is no expansion slot. But the device has a 3000mAh removable battery and comes with 4G LTE support globally.
Samsung has today announced the availability of this device in India. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is priced Rs 57,900 for the 32GB variant and comes in Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colors. It will be available in India starting August 28th. The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ keyboard cover is priced at Rs. 4,599. As of now there is no mention on the launch of Note 5 in India. There are speculations that Note 5 might not make it to India.
