At the IFA 2015 in Berlin, Lenovo has also announced two smartphones focused on battery life along with the selfie-focused Vibe S1. The battery focused Vibe smartphones feature a manual power saver switch to instantly extend battery life and an OTG (On-The-Go) Charging function to charge other USB-connected devices, such as Bluetooth headsets and portable speakers.
The Vibe P1 comes with a 5.5-inch FHD (1920X1080) IPS display and is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor with 2GB of RAM.
The phone runs on Android 5.1 with custom UI from the company. The device sports a 5000mAh massive non removable battery. On the camera front, it comes with 13MP phase-detection auto-focus rear camera with dual-color flash, 5MP secondary front camera. There is 32GB storage which is expandable via micro SD card to 128GB.
It is made from an Aluminum frame with front Gorilla Glass 3 support. There is also finger print scanner included with the home button and the device supports 4G LTE and NFC.
The Vibe P1m is a more affordable variant with a 5.0inch HD display and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P 1.0GHz Quad-Core with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The phone comes with 4000mAh battery. There is a 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash, 5MP secondary front camera. The phone has Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
Pricing and Availability:
The VIBE P1 will be available starting early October and VIBE P1m in mid-September in countries where Lenovo smartphones are sold. Pricing starts at $279 (USD) for VIBE P1 and $159 (USD) for VIBE P1m.
