After launching the flagship phone, the MX5 couple of months back, Meizu had announced the new PRO Series. The company has today announced the flagship device under the PRO series, the Meizu PRO 5. The device has been in leaks for few days now and the press render was also leaked ahead of the announcement.
The Meizu PRO 5 comes with a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080, 387 PPI) Super AMOLED 2.5D display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it. The phone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor.
The device will come in two variants, one with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of native storage, while the second variant will ship with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Similar to the MX5, the PRO 5 also comes with 21MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual tone LED flash along with laser autofocus. There is also 5MP front camera for selfies.
The home button below the display is also a fingerprint scanner. There is 3,050mAh battery included in the device. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom Flyme OS version 4.5 on top of it. Design wise, the phone is made of Magnesium alloy which should make the device durable.
The Meizu PRO 5 comes packed with a USB Type-C port. There is also mCharge 2.0 which charges the 3050mAh battery of the Meizu PRO 5 up to 65% in just 30 minutes. The Meizu PRO 5 also features offer 4G LTE connectivity along with VoLTE (voice over LTE). The Meizu Pro 5 measures 156.7 x 78 x 7.5mm, weighs 166 grams, and will be available in Grey, Silver White, Silver Black, Gold and Rose Gold color options.
