Gionee has launched the company’s flagship device under the E series, the Elife E8 in India. The device was first announced in China back in June this year and it comes with high end hardware. The new flagship device, Elife E8 features a 6-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560p. It is powered by the 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 SoC which is a true octa-core 2GHz CPU coupled with 3GB of RAM.
Similar to the Elife E7, the Elife E8 is also a camera focused smartphone.
Gionee last device in the Elife E series was the E7 which was launched back in December 2013 and was a massive hit with the 16MP rear camera which produced stunning results. With Elife E8, Gionee has packed a massive 23.7MP rear camera with dual LED flash and this camera is capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. There is also an 8MP camera on front for selfies and video chats. The camera is also capable of taking images in up to 100-megapixel in resolution. Another feature of this flagship phone is that a fingerprint scanner is on back of the unit which is first of its kind from Gionee.
The phone is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop and has the custom Amigo UI from the company. The Amigo UI is version 3.1 which is improved from S7. There is 4G LTE support along with dual SIM card support. The phone is 9.6 mm thick and weigh 204.4 grams. It is powered by a 3500mAh battery which is pretty good capacity considering the specs.
Gionee Elife E8 is priced Rs 34,999 and available exclusively on Snapdeal starting October 12th. We will have detailed review of the phone soon, so stay tuned.
