Back in August, ASUS had launched the Zenfone 2 Deluxe, a slightly upgraded variant of the Zenfone 2. Zenfone 2 Deluxe is basically the Zenfone 2 top end variant with some changes to the design. The rear panel of the Zenfone 2 Deluxe comes with a premium polygonal material. Apart from this, the specs are similar to Zenfone 2 with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection and is powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor.
Here is the unboxing of the device.

Design is the only area where the Zenfone 2 Deluxe differs from Zenfone 2. Instead of the brushed metal finishing on the Zenfone 2, the Deluxe version comes with a pattern on the rear panel which resembles polygons. This gives a different look and feel to the device and looks good. It is comfortable to hold even though it is bumpy on the rear panel. The device is slim towards the edges, so holding it is pretty easy and the thickness goes over 10mm at the center.
The sides of the device do not have any buttons, the volume keys are moved to the rear panel similar to LG’s G3 and they have been given a metallic touch. The rear panel also houses the 13MP camera and dual tone LED flash along with ASU S branding and speaker.
The front panel has the selfie camera, 5.5-inch screen covered by Gorilla Glass 3 and three capacitive buttons which are not backlit, but does offer haptic feedback. The power button which is on the top panel is awkwardly placed and does not have enough travel as well. Most of the time you end up pressing atleast 2-3 times to get the power button working, but thankfully there is double tap to wake on the display.
The phone comes with a 5.5inch Full HD display which has a resolution of 1920 X 1080p. It has 401 pixels per inch and the display is fairly good. There is Corning Gorilla glass 3 support and also the touch response was pretty smooth.
ZenFone 2 is powered by Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and it is one of the few smartphones in the world to have 4GB RAM. There is also 64GB internal storage available on the phone of which around 55GB is usable.
The phone also packs the same 13MP rear camera and the 5MP front camera which was available on the Zenfone 2. There is also Android 5.0 Lollipop along with Zen UI and 3000mAh battery. The phone supports 4G LTE and has dual SIM card and micro SD card support.
The device is priced Rs 22,999 and available exclusively on Flipkart. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
