Few months back Gionee had launched the Marathon M5, the latest device in the Marathon series with high battery capacity. The device was officially announced in India few weeks back. Now the company has launched the upgraded version of Marathon M5, the Marathon M5 Plus.
The Gionee Marathon M5 comes with a 6-inch (1920× 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with 2.5D arc glass and this is bigger than the 5.5 inch on M5. It is powered by 1.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU.
The phone has 3GB of RAM and comes with 64GB internal storage. On the imaging front, the phone has 13MP Auto Focus Camera with LED flash and PDAF and also a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1.
Comparing the Marathon M5, the M5 Plus comes with Fingerprint scanner and also a 5020mAh battery. The battery also features fast charging. The device has dual SIM cards with 4G LTE support and there is also micro SD card expansion slot. Marathon M5 Plus also features USB C type port for charging.
The Gionee M5 Plus comes in Gold and Silver colors and is priced at 2499 Yuan which is approx $385 ( Rs 25,000). The device will go on sale on December 25th in China.
