Samsung has announced the brand new device in the A series, the Samsung Galaxy A9. The Galaxy A9 is the most premium device in the A series which comes with a metallic build and slim design. The Galaxy A9 comes with a 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. The device is powered by 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor and it is coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The phone comes with 32GB of internal storage and has microSD card slot as well and it supports cards of upto 128GB capacity.
The A9 runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and there is Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it. It is disappointing to see Samsung go with Lollipop instead of Marshmallow. The smartphone supports dual-SIM capabilities (Nano+Nano) and has 4G LTE support.
On the imaging aspect the phone has a 13MP camera with OIS and the front has an 8MP camera. It also features a fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button.
The phone comes with a metal frame with glass finishing on front and rear panels and has a premium look with 7.4mm thickness. The Samsung Galaxy A9 will come in in White, Gold and Pink colour variants. The phone has a massive 4000mAh battery. Connectivity features include Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0.
The pricing of the device is not yet announced, we expect this to come to India pretty soon since all the A series devices have been released in India. Samsung had also announced the upgraded Galaxy A5 and A7 earlier.
