If you have been using a Xiaomi device, you might be knowing that the company gives more priority to its custom ROM MIUI rather than the latest Android version. A lot of devices which received MIUI7 were still based on KitKat and not Lollipop. But now, the company has revealed plans for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its flagship series.
According to the report on GizmoChina, Xiaomi Mi3, Mi4 and Mi Note are expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update pretty soon.
MIUI operations manager of Xiaomi has revealed a screenshot of MIUI 7 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update is in the final stages of testing and could be released pretty soon. The MIUI version of the update is 5.12.24 and around 518MB in size. This is indeed a great move from the company which is pretty slow to adopt the latest versions of Android.
The recently announced Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which comes with high end specs also runs on out-dated Android 5.0, but has MIUI7.
As of now the devices which are getting the update are Xiaomi Mi3, Mi4 and Mi Note. This version could be a beta build and might come to developer ROM in the first stage and might be available at a later stage for stable build.
