ASUS had launched the Zenfone Go back in September this year and we had reviewed the device on this blog. The company has now launched a cheaper variant of the Zenfone Go (ZC451TG) in India. This device is a stripped down variant of Zenfone Go and features a inch 480 x 854 (FWVGA) resolution display and is powered by MediaTek MT6580M Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3GHZ.
It is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It also offers Micro SD card support up to 64 GB in addition to a 5 GB lifetime ASUS web storage.
The device is equipped with a 5 MP primary camera with auto-focus, F2.0 aperture and a 0.3 MP front camera for selfies. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with custom Zen UI. It features Accelerator, E-Compass, Proximity and Ambient light sensor. It comes with dual SIM card support but similar to original Zenfone Go, this device also has no 4G LTE capabilities.
The battery capacity is at 1600mAh which we feel is quite low for a budget phone. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS.
The device will be available in 4 colours – Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Rouge Pink and Flash Blue. The phone can be purchased starting today on Flipkart, and in ASUS Exclusive Stores as well as other offline stores from the second week of January 2016 onwards, for a price of Rs. 5,299. The phone will also be available on other e-commerce portals later on.
