After rectifying all the issues that users complained in Windows 8.1, Microsoft released the latest version of Windows 10 in July last year. The new OS was well received by all sections as it came with new features and also improvements in all areas. In short, 2015 was a good year for Microsoft and the company also offered Windows 10 as a free upgrade to all Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users.
As of today, there are more than 200 million monthly active devices around the world running Windows 10, which is an impressive figure for an OS released 6 months back.
Microsoft has also mentioned that the Windows 10 adoption is accelerating, with more than 40% of new Windows 10 devices becoming active since Black Friday. It is also the fastest growing Window ever outpacing Windows 7 by nearly 140% and Windows 8 by nearly 400%.
Windows 10 adoption in enterprise segment has also increased. 76% of the enterprise customers are in active pilots of Windows 10, and now over 22 million devices running Windows 10 across enterprise and education customers.
The company also mentioned that the new web browser, Microsoft Edge has also seen increase in usage with Windows 10. Over 2.5 billion questions asked of Cortana since launch.
Microsoft also announced that Surface Book will be available for pre-order in Austria, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, and New Zealand and it will be coming soon to Japan. The company will also be launching Surface Pro to India in the coming weeks.
