Design and Build:
Design-wise, the Nexus 6P is one of the beautiful devices and comes with a slim body at 7.3mm. The device has a metal body and power and volume keys are placed on the right side. The SIM tray (nano) is placed on the left side. At the bottom, you can see the USB C type port while the top houses the audio jack. The rear panel houses the 12.3MP camera, dual tone LED flash, laser autofocus and fingerprint scanner along with Nexus branding which is actually done on the metal frame instead of using a paint.
The camera unit has been given a projected look with glossy finishing which actually looks pretty good. The front panel has 5.7-inch display, 8MP camera, sensors and also speaker unit located at the bottom. Overall, the Nexus 6P looks and feels good in hands with good built quality. Even though it is a huge device with a 5.7inch display, it is pretty comfortable to use as well.
Display:
The Nexus 6P comes with 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED display at 518 PPI and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The display looks vivid and colors have come great. The touch response is very good and so are the viewing angles.
The display is a treat to use when watching movies or playing games. Overall, the display looks very good on the device and one of the best we have seen on a flagship device.
Software:
Nexus series are often sought after device for the software as it runs the stock Android without any customizations or third party apps. Nexus series also gets latest updates before any other device. The Nexus 6P comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and the UI does not have any changes from the stock and comes with only the core apps.
There are no third party apps included. The notification center is almost similar to Lollipop and the UI is mostly unchanged, there are some internal changes in 6.0. This time, Google has concentrated on improving the experience instead of adding more features.
The app drawer has been given a slightly different look with vertical scrolling. While there aren’t too many UI changes, there are some new features as well, like the Google Now on Tap, Doze, and many others.
App permissions have also changed in Android 6.0 and now it asks if you want an app to access a particular function when the app tries to access it for the first time. But the biggest advantage of using Nexus 6P is the optimized software with no bloatware or customizations.
Performance:
Under the hood, the Nexus 6P is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, clocked at 2 GHz, and backed by the Adreno 430 GPU coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Using the device has been a great treat with superb performance with the flagship processor. Be it moving from home screen to app drawer or switching between apps or gaming, Nexus 6P always had great performance.
The gaming experience of the device is also excellent with lag free experience and on top of it the Quad HD display and front speakers enhance the overall experience.

The phone comes with 32GB of internal storage (64GB and 128GB versions also available), but sadly there is no micro SD expansion slot. The call quality of the device is also very good and it also supports 4G LTE along with single SIM card.
Fingerprint reading is now a built-in feature of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Google call it Nexus Imprint. Huawei has included a fingerprint scanner into the device and it works really fast and is accurate as well. When you want to unlock the device, just keep the finger on the scanner and it locks in a flash.
Camera:
While the camera hasn’t been a priority on Nexus devices in the past, Google has made sure that Nexus 6P has one of the best cameras available. The Nexus 6P comes with a 12.3 MP camera with f/2.0, laser autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. There is also an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The camera app on the Nexus 6P is the Google camera app which is pretty basic in features but performs well. There aren’t a lot of modes and filters available which you might see on most flagship camera.
The phone can record videos in 4k resolution while the front camera is capable of 1080p.
Talking about the camera quality, the Nexus 6P has great quality in the photos taking. The color looks pretty vibrant and there are plenty of details in the photo. The overall clarity of the photos is very good and images came out clean and crisp for most of the time. There is also an HDR+ option available in the camera. The camera also performs quite well in low light with noise levels kept to a minimum. The front 8MP camera is also very good for selfie experience. The video recording was again very good with 4k and 1080p recording. One of the features missing on Nexus 6P camera is probably the OIS. Here are some of the samples taken with the device.
Battery Life:
The Nexus 6P comes with a 3450mAh battery and the performance was very good. Android 6.0 also comes with new Doze mode. This will keep your phone in a state of low power consumption by preventing apps from running in the background. Nexus 6P also comes with USB C Type charger with quick charging capabilities and you can charge the device in less than an hour.
Overall Nexus 6P comes with great battery performance.
Verdict:
So is the Nexus 6P the best Android flagship right now? We would say yes! Nexus 6P has almost everything going its way, excellent design and build, superior display, great software and performance, excellent camera and battery life. Probably the only thing missing is OIS in the camera and lack of micro SD card support which we feel isn’t a real big issue for the device.
Priced at Rs 39,999, the Nexus 6P is a great device if you are looking for an Android flagship!
decent phone from huwaei.. camera quality is good.
Omg this phone is brilliant, but the screen size is too big. The scores are out standing and i think the 6p owners are enjoying.
