Samsung has launched the latest flagship phones from the company, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India. The devices are priced Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900 in India. Along with the device announcement, the company also announced a new Concierge service exclusive to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users.
So what exactly is Samsung Concierge Service? This comes as a part of the My Galaxy app which is installed on the phone. It has added services like Personal assistant, cabs, phone recharge and more. Instead of having a digital personal assistant, concierge service gives you a helpdesk assistant who will be available on call between 10AM and 6PM.
This assistant will be able to help you with variety of tasks including setting reminders, sending gifts to someone order groceries or getting a web-check in for your flight. Samsung has tied up with Ola, Mobikwik, Ibibo and Amazon for more services and it also include Grofers.
Apart from this, the service also allows priority access to service centers. The app comes with list of all service centers and the nearest one for you. You can also opt for the pick-up-drop service and a Samsung service center executive will pick up the device from your doorsteps and return it once the service is completed. You can also opt for a new device while your smartphone is being repaired or serviced. This will be initially available in 19 cities in India.
You can also chat with the helpdesk after the regular working hours and they will be able to provide quick help. The app also has option to track your phone in case it is lost or missing.
As of now this service is limited to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but Samsung plans to have this extended to Galaxy S6 and Note 5 as well. This also means it will be a premium service as of now and limited to flagship phones.
Recently Yu had launched their new service Around YU and Xiaomi also announced Mi Protect service. It is good to see that OEMs are looking to provide better service and not just concentrating on selling phones.
