At the Apple event today, the company has announced a new iPhone which is basically a smaller variant of the current iPhone 6S. The new iPhone SE, pronounced as “essay” and comes with the 4 inch display which is basically the same screen size of iPhone 5S.
While the screen size is smaller on iPhone SE, the processor and other hardware has been retained from the iPhone 6S.
iPhone SE is powered by the 64 bit A9 chip and is the most powerful 4 inch smartphone. It also comes with M9 motion coprocessor. The phone also comes with 12MP iSight camera which has true tone flash, focus pixels and live photos feature.
It also supports 4k video and 1080p upto 60fps. Apple claims that the battery life has also been improved in the iPhone SE. The iPhone SE also comes with faster LTE and VoLTE along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and iOS 9.3.
The iPhone SE is priced starting $399 for the 16GB variant and there is also a 64GB variant at $499. It will be available for pre-order starting March 24th and will be available on March 31st. It will be available in 100 countries by May.
