Back in January this year, Xiaomi had announced the successor of Redmi 2, the popular budget phone in many markets. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 comes with major upgrade and sports a full metallic body and better camera along with battery performance.
Now, the company has announced a new Pro version of the Redmi 3 with slightly upgraded specs. The new Redmi 3 Pro comes with same 5 inch HD display (1280 x 720p) and is powered by the Snapdragon 616 Octa core processor coupled with 3GB RAM. The Redmi 3 came with 2GB of RAM.
The phone also comes wit upgraded storage and now sports 32GB internal storage when compared to 16GB on the normal version. There is also expandable storage option. On the camera front, the phone again packs the same 13MP camera and 5MP front camera for selfies.
Another major change to the device is that it comes with a finger print scanner located on the rear panel similar to Redmi Note 3.
The phone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with custom MIUI 7. There is also massive 4100mAh battery included in the device. The phone is priced 899 Yuan which roughly converts to Rs 9200 in India. We are expecting Xiaomi to bring this variant of Redmi 3 to replace the Redmi 2 Prime currently selling in India.
