In this article we will list out the pros and cons of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
Pros:
1. Good build quality: Redmi Note 3 comes with an all metal unibody design with good quality for a budget smartphone. It also comes in different colors to choose from.
2. Good Display: The phone also comes with Sunlight Display which was first showcased with Mi4i in India and this display basically adjusts according to the brightness levels. The display looks quite good with vivid colors and great sharpness levels. The touch response is also very smooth and so are the viewing angles as this is an IPS LCD panel.
3. Accurate Fingerprint Scanner: Redmi Note 3 comes with a fingerprint scanner which is located on the rear panel. The fingerprint scanner is very accurate and works very well and unlocks the phone in quick time. You can also use the fingerprint scanner to take selfies.
4. Excellent Battery Life: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 packs a 4050mAh massive battery and the battery life is excellent. With normal usage, you can easily get at least 1.5 days of battery life from the phone. If you are a person who loves travelling, this is an ideal device.
5. Excellent Performance: The Snapdragon 650 Hexa Core processor with Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 is a performance powerhouse in the budget segment and provides great overall performance on Redmi Note 3 with great gaming experience as well. It is coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
6. MIUI 7: The phone comes with the latest MIUI 7.2 which adds a lot of new features and the skin is highly customizable with themes which you can download from the theme store. MIUI brings in a refreshing change to Android especially if you liked customization.
7. Above Average Camera: While the 16MP camera is quite decent for the pricing, it is still not up to the Xiaomi’s standards. But nevertheless, comparing the competition, the 16MP camera is still a good aspect on the phone.
8. IR Blaster: Very few phones offer IR blaster in the budget category. With the Mi Remote app, you can use the Redmi Note 3 as a universal remote for A/C, TV, Set top box, Fans and more.
Cons:
1. Hybrid SIM card:
Redmi Note 3 comes with a hybrid SIM card which means you can either use a micro SD card and one SIM card or dual SIM card. While the 32GB version of Note 3 has decent storage, the 16GB version might need a micro SD card and in such cases you will have to compromise on dual SIM card functionality.
2. No protection on display: While the phone has a 5.5 inch Full HD display with Sunlight display, there is no protection offered on the display which is quite disappointing.
3. Android Version: Although the focus of Xiaomi phones is MIUI as mentioned before, the Redmi Note 3 comes with an out-dated Android version (5.1.1).
This is a very good handset. Those who want a powerful phone in the budget price range can go for this one.
Well redmi note 3 doesnt have corning gorilla glass 3 protection, but that doesnt mean it doesnt have any protection at all on the screen…..there is a video by the hugo barra of xiaomi india that shows the phone is really sturdy as far as the screen is concerned…

The Glass being sturdy is a good thing, but there is not added protection for scratches. We have two units of RN3 and one of them have scratches after keeping in the bag. It all depends on the usage.
