The Coolpad Max sports an all-metal unibody design with great build quality. The phone comes with a sturdy matte finish panel on the rear panel. The edges of the device are curved and gives a solid grip on the device. The design is reminiscent of few phones launched recently. The front panel has a 2.5D curved glass with Gorilla Glass 4. The navigational buttons are on screen and the bezels are kept to a minimum. The front panel also houses the front camera and the sensors.
The volume key is placed on the left side while the power key along with SIM card tray is placed on the right side. The keys have good overall feedback. At the top, we have the audio jack while the micro USB slot along with speaker unit is located at the bottom. The rear panel houses the 13MP camera, dual LED flash, and the fingerprint scanner. There are two black bands running on the top and bottom section of the rear panel and adds up to the looks. The fingerprint scanner has a projection towards inside making it easy to use. Overall, the phone has excellent build quality and feel sturdy.
Coolpad Max sports a 5.5 inch full HD display and the colors look pretty vibrant. The touch response from the display is also good. The viewing angles are also great and there is no change in colors when you tilt the display.
The phone comes with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. In our initial round of testing, we found the camera to be quite capable of shooting great quality photos. We will have a detailed review on the same. There is also 64GB internal storage out of which around 49GB is available in the first boot. There is also an option to expand the storage via micro SD card available with hybrid SIM.
The phone is powered by 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with 4GB of RAM. There is almost close to 2.5GB RAM available in the first boot. In our initial few hours of usage, we found the device to be extremely responsive without any lags. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with CoolUI 8.0. One of the USP of this smartphone is that it comes with a dual-system (dual space feature) which allows its users to have two accounts on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media apps the phone. This, in turn, allows users to separate the personal stuff from work.
The phone also comes with 2800 mAh battery with quick charging. We will have the detailed review of the device soon, so stay tuned. The device is priced Rs 24,999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon.
