Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is one of the eagerly awaited updates for Windows 10 and it will be available for all PCs soon. Microsoft has been providing updates to Insiders who are testing out the new features. Microsoft has been continuously improving Windows 10 by adding new features and also retiring features which are no longer in use or outdated. So with the new Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, there are lots of features which are removed or deprecated. In this post, we will share the list of features removed in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
1. 3D Builder:
3D Builder app will no longer installed by default on Windows 10. You can use Print 3D and Paint 3D in its place. However, 3D Builder is still available for download from the Windows Store.
2. Microsoft Paint:
Microsoft has announced that the Paint app which has been there in Windows version since the start will be deprecated and it will be removed from future updates. In case you want to still use MS Paint, then you can download the Paint app which will be made available in Windows Store. The functionality has been already included in the Paint 3D app.
3. Outlook Express:
While Outlook Express, which was an email client on Windows, was already discontinued some time back, the new version will remove this non-functional legacy code.
4. Reader App:
Microsoft Reader app which was available from Windows 8 will not make it to the newer version, instead, this functionality will be integrated into Microsoft Edge browser.
5. Reading List:
Reading list is another utility which will be retired and will not be included in future versions and this feature will be available with Microsft Edge.
6. Screen Saver in Themes:
This feature to be disabled in Themes and the screen saver functionality in Group Policies, Control Panel, and Sysprep is now deprecated but continues to be functional. Lock screen features and policies are preferred.
7. System Image Backup (SIB) Solution
If you plan to make full disk backup, then you should be looking for solutions from other third party vendors as Microsoft is removing this feature from Windows.
