Micromax has been one of the major smartphone players in India until the time the Chinese OEMs entered India. In the last couple of years, we haven’t seen a major device from Micromax which has the stand out features to compete with the Chinese OEMs. Now, Micromax is back with the new device called the Canvas Infinity. The Canvas Infinity is the cheapest smartphone with 18:9 aspect ratio and the company calls it Full Vision display. So here are the best features of Micromax Canvas Infinity.
1. Display:
Unlike the standard 16:9 aspect ratio, the Canvas Infinity comes with Full Vision 18:9 aspect ratio with smaller bezels and has a 5.7 inch HD panel with a resolution of 1440X720p. The display looks really good and the colors are vivid and overall it gives a good feel when using the phone. The edge to edge coverage with smaller bezels means the device looks smaller even though the display size is 5.7 inch. The display is a great experience for watching movies.
2. Camera:
The camera is one department where Micromax has given some priority on the Canvas Infinity. The device comes with a 16MP front selfie camera with F/2.0 and it also has the real time Bokeh mode included. There is also a 13MP rear camera with F/2.0 and LED flash. Here are some samples taken with the phone.
3. Software Updates:
Software updates are one of the major issues with budget smartphones. You might often see phones launching with outdated software and companies seldom providing any future updates. But in case of Canvas Infinity, the phone runs the latest Android 7.1.2 and the company is promising an update to Android Oreo as soon as it is available. So expect the update for this device in 2017 itself and this is something really good from Micromax considering their past reputation of providing updates.
4. Service Promise
When it comes to after sales service, it has been more or less patchy for most of the budget OEMs. Micromax also hasn’t been really good with service quality but they are improving with the new Canvas Infinity. The company is promising a 24-hour “Repair or Replace” for the Canvas Infinity at selected service centers. This is available in Ahmedabad, Agra, Bangalore, Asansol, Chennai, Aurangabad, Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Cochin, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Jabalpur, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Rajkot, Vadodara, and Visakhapatnam.

5. Price:
For an 18:9 aspect ratio display, the cheapest available device was LG Q6 and now Micromax has priced the Canvas Infinity below Rs 10000 making it the cheapest phone with 18:9 aspect ratio and also infinite display. The device is a good overall package for Rs 9,999.
You can buy the device from Amazon starting September 1st.
