Infinix is a relatively new brand in India and they have some good budget and mid-range smartphones along with the recently announced flagship phone, the Infinix Zero 5. Along with the announcement of Zero 5, the company also announced it’s first Bluetooth headphones with active noise cancellation. The Infinix QuietX is an over-the-ear headphones with the premium build quality and offering good value for money. The headphones are priced Rs 6,999 in India and available exclusively on Flipkart. So how good is the headphone for the price? Let’s find out in the detailed Infinix QuietX Headphones Review.
Design and Build:
The QuietX is premium headphones in the sub 10k price segment and that reflects the design and build quality of the headphone. It is made of aluminum and hard plastic case and feels extremely premium in the fit and finish. The over-the-ear headphones offer unique design and available in two colors- black and white. We tested the black variant and feels premium. There is enough padding in the earcups and headband. The left and right earcups are marked properly inside the cup. The left cup has the power button for Bluetooth connectivity and also the 3.5mm audio jack below it while the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) button is above it. On the right earcup, you can see the play/pause button, volume keys and also the charging slot which is a micro USB slot.
The earcups can be rotated by 90 degrees. The ear cups have soft material with good built quality. The company also claims that the headphones pass through 200 rigorous tests including drop test, sweat test, impact, temperature and more.
Comfort:
One thing we liked about the QuietX is the comfort of using. Even after using for long hours, we did not feel any pain as the headphones are extremely comfortable to use with soft earcups. They are also not heavy making it a good choice for people looking for long usage. The headband also comes with good cushioning so that you won’t feel any pain.
Output:
Now, talking about the performance of the headphones, it did a good job altogether with the sound quality. Connecting the headphones to smartphone or PC is an easy task, all you need to do is to power on and check for the headphones in the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
The bass performance of the headphone for heavy tracks is quite satisfactory and we would have loved an option to have extra bass. It also comes with good amount of depth when it comes songs with a focus on vocals. The overall clarity is good and ideal for long hours usage. The maximum volume available could have been a tad better, but nevertheless, we loved the overall experience.
Since it has a mic, you an also answer calls on the smartphone using the headphone and here again the quality was good. The battery is at 600mAh and the company promises 25 hours with Bluetooth. We managed around 12 to 15 hours on Bluetooth on an average. You are also provided with a low-battery alarm which alerts you when your headphones are almost out of juice.
Active Noise Cancellation:
One of the important aspects of the headphone is the ANC or active noise cancellation. You can activate the ANC via the dedicated button above power key. When you switch on, the sound is amplified through an inbuilt DAC and the noise is reduced to 25db. The ANC does a good job and reduces the smaller noises around, but larger noises sometimes do come in.
Verdict:
Priced at Rs 6,999, the Infinix QuietX is a good offering in the affordable headphones segment and the Active noise cancellation is definitely a good feature to have. If you are on a tight budget, the QuietX is a good offering and won’t disappoint you.
