Xiaomi has announced their latest mid-range device, the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The new Redmi Note 5 Pro made the global debut in India and will go on sale in India on February 22nd and this device has good specifications for the price. It comes with the latest 18:9 aspect ratio 5.99 inch Full HD+ resolution display and is the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 636 Octa core processor. The device comes in two variants, the 4GB RAM variant along with 6GB RAM. One of the questions asked about Redmi Note 5 Pro is that where it supports fast charging? In this post, we will try to check Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Fast Charging.
Xiaomi has not mentioned anything about the fast charging support on this device. The bundled charger in the box is 5V 2A which is QC 1.0 and a dated technology. So we tried to charge the device using QC 2.0 and QC 3.0 charger to see if there are any difference in the charging speed and time.
The default charger takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge the device which is quite high by 2018 standards. We tried charging with QC 2.0 charger and when we plugged the charger, it showed quick charging icon in the notification area and also quick charging was mentioned on the lock screen. But the charging time was not considerably reduced with QC 2.0 charger and it took 2 hours and 15 minutes to charge using QC 2.0 charger. The same is the case with QC 3.0 charger.
Here is a video on charging test on Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro.
So even though there is support for QC 2.0, it doesn’t reduce the time taken for charging the device and for 4000mAh battery, the average time is 2 hours and 15 minutes and this is quite high time for charging.
Coming to the battery performance, the device performed pretty well and we were able to get around 8-9 hours of screen on time with the device.
Have you tried different brands of quick chargers?
May be possible tghat some brands work properly with this device.
i need to know why MI selling this 9V charger as a quick charger. its charging exactly like a normal charger. there is nothing like quick charging happening on my Redmi Note 5 Pro. feeling sad and regret buying the phone and later this so called quick charger.
Do fast charger reduce the battery life of note 5 pro
