Windows Defender is a tool provided with Windows by default and provides protection for the OS from viruses and malware. While Windows Defender is pretty basic in terms of protection, it is in-built to the system and with recent versions of Windows, there is no option to disable it. If you have installed a full-fledged anti-virus tool installed on Windows, then you might want to disable or remove Windows Defender which is not available on Windows. Defender Control is a freeware tool for Windows 10 which allows users to disable Windows Defender in Windows 10 completely.
Once you run the Defender Control app, you can see two main options, disable Windows Defender and Enable Windows Defender. You can also see a few other additional options provided in the app. Once you click the disable option, the app turns into red color indicating that Windows Defender is disabled on your PC.
Few reasons why you should use this app:
- When you are copying a large file from PC to a USB drive or vice versa, then Defender can slow up things, so disabling it will make the transfer faster.
- Few users may experience conflicts between Defender and the anti-virus application running on their PC.
- Some antivirus programs ask the user to manually turn off or disable Windows Defender in Windows 10
- If you’ve got it enabled, chances are Windows Defender will start each time you boot your PC
This app is supported on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit).
