One of the inherent issues with the internet is data breaches and this can have a substantial effect if your email account is compromised. In order to make it secure there are many ways like 2-step authentication. Google has now released a new Google Chrome extension which can check if your Google account is breached and the extension is called Password Checkup. Password Checkup helps you re-secure accounts that were affected by data breaches.
Once you install the extension and login to your Google account, if you enter a username and password that is no longer safe due to appearing in a data breach known to Google, you’ll receive an alert. If you receive such an alert, it is better to change the password immediately to make the account secure.
Password Checkup was built with privacy in mind. It never reports any identifying information about your accounts, passwords, or device. This extension is pretty useful since most of us rely on Google account for a lot of login purpose and also most of our data are present in your Google account.
The extension is available in the Chrome store and you can download it using the link below.
