Realme, the smartphone brand which was launched last year has been pretty successful in India with their phone. The company has also been competitive in terms of pricing as well. Today, the brand has launched their latest smartphone in India, the Realme X. The Realme X was first announced in China in May this year and is currently the top device in terms of hardware and also pricing. The Realme X has been announced in India for Rs and here are our first impressions.
Here is the unboxing video:
Talking about the design, the Realme X has a simple and elegant looking design with curved back panel towards the side. The highlight of the device is the pop up selfie camera and this gives the device the full view display without the notch experience. Since the phone has a large 6.53 inch display, it is slightly heavy as well, but weight distribution is pretty good. The back panel is made of poly carbonate material and the finishing is good. There are two colors on offer, the polar white and blue. We tested the blue variant of the phone. The back panel has the dual camera unit and unlike the regular design of keeping the camera on the left side, it is center aligned which does give a refreshing feel. The Realme branding sits at the bottom. So in terms of looks, it is definitely a good looking smartphone.
As it has an in-display fingerprint scanner, the company has gone with an AMOLED display and it really shows up in the quality. The display is extremely bright and offers great quality. The colors are good and the display sharpness is good. The viewing angles are also excellent and it also provides good outdoor visibility. It also boasts of 19.5:9 full screen and a
high screen-to-body ratio of 91.2%. There is also Gorilla Glass 5 protection offered.
Talking about cameras, Realme has gone with the most popular camera sensor, the Sony IMX586 sensor with 48MP resolution. There is a secondary 5MP depth sensing camera as well. The front camera is a 16MP pop up selfie camera.
The camera interface is pretty good and similar to what we have seen on most of the Realme phones offering Pro mode and Nightscape mode. There is also 4K UHD recording available along with 1080p with EIS support. The camera quality looks good and we will be doing a detailed camera review later. Here are some of the samples taken.
Realme phones have Color OS as the software and Realme X is no different. We have Color OS 6.0 on top of Android Pie. The experience is pretty good and it offers an app drawer and redesigned UI. The performance of the device is also very good. The memory management was also very good, which is something Realme has improved from Realme 3 Pro. The device is powered by Snapdragon 710 Octa core processor with 4, 6 and 8GB of RAM along with 64 and 128GB of storage being offered. The gaming experience is also great with a notch less display.
Realme X also supports Dolby Atmos and the audio output from the speakers is very good, this is evident when you play games or watch movies on the device. The phone also comes with in-display fingerprint scanner, the performance of which is very good. It is accurate and unlocks pretty quickly.
The phone has 3765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 charging, which is a 5V 2A, 20W charger and this we have seen on Realme 3 Pro as well. We need to test the battery more to get an idea about the performance, but it definitely looks good in battery department.
Overall, talking about the device, it a good package offered from Realme with a balance in all the aspects. If you are looking for a all-round package, Realme X looks like a good package from our initial impressions.
