Huawei has officially launched the Kirin A1 processor in India. This chipset, was officially announced couple of months back and is the world’s first Bluetooth 5.1 and Bluetooth low power 5.1 wearable chip. It will be initially powering the new Huawei FreeBuds 3 and Huawei Watch GT 2. So this chipset is specifically meant for wearables including headsets, neckbands, bluetooth speakers, smart bands and smartwatches. So what are the features of Kirin A1.
The new chipset measures 4.3 x 4.4 mm in size and is smaller than Kirin 990 and this chipset is integrated with Bluetooth processing unit, an audio processing unit, an ultra-low-power application processor and independent efficient power management unit.

Huawei Kirin A1 chip’s ultra-energy efficient Cortex-M7 processor has achieved a maximum energy consumption rate of 10uA/MHz. This is far below the industry’s 30uA/MHZ power consumption level. It also includes Cortex-M7’s powerful multi-sensors, as well as from the capacitive sensor, optical heart rate sensor, and additional sensors such as accelerometer sensor and six axis sensor, this chipset is crafted to deliver the most accurate body recognition and monitoring capabilities and hence it could be a really big deal for wearable industry.
Kirin A1 chips will be used in devices such as wireless headphones, neck-mounted headphones, smart speakers, true wireless earphones, smart glasses and smartwatches. So with the launch of Kirin A1 in India, we can expect more wearable products from Huawei in India.
