Tiktok is one of those social apps which is hugely popular in India and chances are less that you haven’t heard about this app. Tiktok’s owner, ByteDance from China has launched a new music streaming service called Resso. This app is available for iOS and Android and now available in India and Indonesia. While there are many music streaming apps in India, including Gaana, Saavn and many more, Resso has a different touch to it with social integration. Resso has features where in users are encouraged to share lyrics and comments. Along with this, there is also full-length tracks of music that they can consume and also share with others.
The interface of Resso is quite different from other players, music begins to play as soon as you open the app. You can set your preferences and create collections.
You can set your language and preferences when you set up the app. The collection of songs looks good and the company seems to have tied up with major publishers in India including T-Series, Saregama, Zee Music, YRF Music, Times Music, Tips, Venus and Shemaroo, as well as Speed Records, Anand Audio, Lahiri Music, Divo and Muzik 247. So you get a lot of songs in different languages.
The explore option allows you to search for any particular track or choose from the curated list of songs in different playlists. While listening to the songs, you can like the song, comment on the song on your feedback or discuss with other members. There is also option to share the track using the option available. You can share with your friends on other social sites.
While you can stream songs for free on Resso, there is a freemium model. A free account includes ads and limits streaming quality to 128 kbps. If you opt for a premium ad-free tier, it boosts streaming to 256 kbps, includes downloads and the ability to skip tracks and costs INR 99/month on Android and INR 119/month on iOS.
Resso has already clocked up 1 million downloads, majority of them are from India and rest from Indonesia where the app is still under testing phase. Resso definitely looks promising with a social aspect added to the music streaming. It is competing with players like YouTube music, Spotify, Apple Music, Gaana, Saavn and more
You can download Resso from Play store or iOS.
