Amazon has updated the Alexa skills with lots of information on Covid-19. This has been updated in fetching information regarding vaccination centres, vaccine availability, and COVID-19 helpline numbers. Amazon has sourced information Indian government’s CoWIN portal, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website as well as MapmyIndia for the Covid-19 information.
Users need to voice this command to Alexa “Alexa, where can I get a COVID vaccine?”. Alexa will search for Covid-19 vaccination centres. If you have not added your address or pin code in Amazon, you will be asked for the 6 digit pin code. Once the search result is shared by Alexa, it also sends a notification to your phone if you have the Alexa app installed on your phone.
If there are no centres for your pin code, then Alexa will set a reminder to check with the skill if the vaccine is available the next day. So instead of manually searching for vaccination centres, you can now ask Alexa for vaccination centres available nearby.
